Yes, our stairs are compatible with other ranges, provided that the height of the staircase matches the height of the mezzanine or surface to be reached.

Can the stairs be placed outdoors?
Yes, our products can be installed outdoors,although you should bear in mind a series of special considerations and carry out maintenance of the material to guarantee that they are in good condition. See this section for more details
Can the stairs be anchored to a mezzanine or construction wall?
Yes. They can be installed on a surface that is not a Mezzanines Oniline surface.
The customer must bear in mind that they are responsible for the strength of the joint and structure to which they are anchored.

Do they meet the building regulation and can they be used inside a house to access the 2 nd floor?
What regulations do our stairs comply with? In MezzaninesOnline there are different types of staircases: some for private use, usually located in small spaces, some for general use, wider and more comfortable, suitable for workplaces or commercial premises. There are in place many regulations for staircases in the different countries in which MezzaninesOnline is present. Therefore, it is difficult to determine whether a staircase type complies with a particular normative.
Our stairs are designed by defining the general criteria for each type of staircase, so that these are well defined and checked against those in the regulations:
Usable width.
Rung tread and riser dimensions.
Permissible step and staircase loads.
Handrail heights.
However, some regulations also refer to very specific construction parameters and details, which must be interpreted by the customer.
Material of the step.
Railing and handrail design.
Type of riser.
Step nosing (or overlap between steps).
Ceiling height clearance.
There are very few international standards that cover the design of staircases, one of which is ISO 14122 "Safety of machinery. Permanent means of access to machinery and industrial installations", whose criteria are suitable for our category /easily-accessible-stairs . Defining the intended use of the staircase is basic in most standards. Staircases are generally classified as service or private stairs, as well as general or public use stairs, the latter being more demanding.

How can I turn the stairs up to allow the transit underneath them?
The anchor that joins the stairs to the mezzanine can attach the stairs with 4 or 2 screws. If you choose the configuration of just 2 screws, the stairs can pivot. In any case, the stairs have the same resistance.
Can the angle of inclination be changed?
Each model of stairs has an inclination and it cannot be changed unless otherwise stated. You must choose the stairs that best suit your needs.
Can I add extra steps?
The stairs include the maximum number of steps that are required in their maximum heights. The more the height is reduced, the less steps will be installed. However, you can acquire additional steps as spare parts, the number of steps is designed according to the inclination of each staircase though. An excessive number of steps would reduce the going available for treading, specially important when going down.
Can the railing of the stairs be taken off?
Yes, the railing of both sides of the stairs is removable and, therefore, it can be taken off. However, MezzaninesOnline recommends to install it for security and because they provide rigidity to the stairs as well.
On the other hand, the stairs include the railing; it is not possible to acquire them without the railing.
Can the spiral stairs be installed inside the mezzanine?
Check the the table with the specifications of each staircase.
Can I buy the stairs with just one side of railing?
No, you can’t.
How is it installed?
At least two adults are required to install mezzanines, (they do not need to be DIY professionals). It is recommended to use safety equipment such as gloves, boots, etc., to avoid any accidents.
For the mezzanine floors in the L and XL range, a scaffolding or ladder system may be required for work at height and manual or electric lifting equipment for the primary beams, especially if the structure is over 3 m high. All other ranges are easily lifted by hand.
You will need the following tools to install the mezzanines: tape measure, a spanner set for nuts and bolts and a screwdriver (an electric screwdriver makes the job much easier), a spirit level, hammer, drill and a cutting tool for the board (handsaw, jigsaw, circular saw...).
The mezzanine floors are packed and shipped by an external agency in a lorry provided with a lifting platform, so that the boxes can be unloaded on the ground. The order will be delivered at street level to the address specified by the customer.
If there are access restrictions, there could be additional costs due to the necessity of transferring the merchandise to a smaller vehicle.
In order to deliver mezzanines XL, the delivery location should be accessible to a truck/long trailer. Should you think there is any kind of restriction, please contact us. The customer should take care of the merchandise unloading process. That unloading should be made from the lateral sides of the truck (this kind of truck does not have a back liftgate). We deliver the product packed with pallets at the bottom, so its unloading should be made preferably with a forklift.
How do I get the product up to my home?
Don't be alarmed by the total weight of the product, the components are light and manageable, so you can move them easily and take them up in the lift.The heaviest components are the primary beams from the L range (86 lb), the rest of the ranges are considerably lighter (26.5 lb).The floor panels are very light and fit in any lift. No component is more than 94 1/2" long and therefore, fits in most lifts.
However, it is important to mention that in the case of the XL range, some components may be a little heavier.
Quality of the materials
MezzaninesOnline products are manufactured with the most suitable materials for the proposed technical solutions, combining wood, steel and top quality aluminium.
The steels used for beams, columns and other components are fit for structural uses with a high yield strength (S235, S275 or S3555, as required). The pieces are manufactured using maximum precision laser cutting, folding and pressing processes. Next a powder coating is applied and they are baked in the oven, offering maximum adhesion and an outstanding finish.

The wood panels used for the mezzanine flooring can be made of European radiata pine plywood or high density structural chipboard. All the boards are tongue and groove on all four sides to prevent faults and unevenness at the joints of the modules.
